He has his AS degree in Photography from The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. He attended a Director Course at the International Film and Television Workshop, attended Sony Institute of Applied Video Technology courses including: “Editing, Technology & Aesthetics” as well as “Hands on Editing at Future Media Concepts.” Emilio was previously employed by the South Florida Water Management District from 1991 – 2011, where he supervised a fast-paced art department and worked with the in-house public relations department to produce publications and video productions to educate the public on world-renowned restoration projects and environmental issues for the largest Water Management District in Florida. He coordinated a diverse team that included project managers, writers, supervisors, graphic artists and on-camera talent to develop a script, create shot sheets, determine locations and create graphics.

Responsible for the progress and quality of the production, Emilio consulted with clients throughout the post-production process, experimented with styles and techniques, selected the most effective shot of a scene in terms of drama, story relevance or continuity. Subject matters included the ongoing restoration of the Kissimmee River as well as Lake Okeechobee and Everglades issues. Other video productions covered internal communications, training and TV Public Service Announcements on water restrictions and water conservation. Before that, he worked as a Staff Photographer for the Palm Beach Post photographing diverse subject material including sports, local news events and features.
